GeekGear World of Wizardry Harry Potter Box November 2016

Hello you beauties!

I had loved this box the past few times I have received it, but for a particular reason, I was extremely excited about this month's GeekGear Harry Potter box. And it's completely obvious why - it was their Christmas edition! I couldn't wait to see what they gave us this month, and I know you can't either, so let's get straight into it.

Of course, the first item I noticed in this box (and was extremely excited about) was this month's t-shirt. The one we receive this month is a red on with the 'Magical Congress of the United States of America' t-shirt, which links with the Fantastic Beasts hint that we were given in last month's box. Now, I have yet to see this film, but I am already so excited to have some merchandise for it.

Next there is the Hogwarts House Lanyard, and like I always do, I have chosen the Slytherin house for this month's box, so I received a Slytherin lanyard. I love it, but I have no real use for it yet. Still glad to have received it in this box though.

Then we received a Harry Potter piggy bank which is honestly one of the cutest things I have ever seen. I have a lot of money boxes (my pug one will always be my favourite) but I'm sure I can find a great place to display this.

We also get a Fantastic Beasts postcard, which is lovely enough, but is honestly not one of my favourite things in the box and something I doubt I will get any use out of.

The print for this month's box is honestly one of the best things I have ever seen. It is an exclusive for the best, and is the scene of a Weasley Christmas. I am looking forward to finding a special spot for this on my bedroom wall, not just over the Christmas period but all year round!

As it is Christmas time, I was not surprised that they included Christmas cards within this months box, and the two designs (we get 4 cards in total) are just the cutest things I have ever seen. One says "Merry Christmas Ya Muggle" with a very Quidditch theme to it, and this is probably my favourite of the two (and I think I'm going to send one to my brother as I know he will love it), and the other just says "Happy Christmas" on it but also has a picture of Dobby dressed up in winter clothing. This one is cute to so I'm going to have to send on of these to someone too. I am really really happy with this addition to the box.

We also got a Galleon in this month's box! I was so excited to see this, as I've always wanted to see what a Galleon would look like. It comes in a little plastic case to protect it, and is quite heavy, so is obviously not made of plastic, which is great too. I am so happy to own this product. Now just to collect a Sickle and a Knut!

The final item is probably the most exciting out of all of them in the box. It can specially packaged, in a box designed to look like a wrapped present. It was Harry Potter's wand! I think it's great that they include wands in this box, because who doesn't love collecting wands!? I am so happy to actually own Harry's wand now too, because even though he is the main character, I never thought to buy his wand (I already have Hermione's and Voldemort's).

So I was extremely pleased with that box again this month. The GeekGear company never fail to impress me, and I can't wait to see what we get next month (just in time for the new year, hopefully).

I will be back tomorrow for day one of Blogmas (are you as excited as I am!?)!!

Look Incredible Beauty Box Review November 2016

Hello you beauties!

As you all know, I love getting my beauty boxes each month and today I am bringing you all my review for November's Look Incredible box.

Price of box is £18.99 per monthAnd £2.50 P&P
There are 5 products in this month's box
This box is worth £69.99
The brands included in this box are: Spa Retreats, No7, Fresh, Lord & Berry and Korres

The first item I pulled from this box was the Spa Retreats Indulgence Moisturising Body Cream. This is a brand that I have used a few products from before and I have quite liked them. This product smells great, as it genuinely smells like rose and I personally love floral scents. I haven't actually tried it out yet as I have a lot of other body creams and butters already in use, but I really can't wait to try it.

The next item is the No7 Lift & Luminate Day and Night Serum. I have tried much of the No7 makeup before but I have never tried their skincare products so I am excited to have these in the box. They are actually pretty good products too. While I don't really notice any obvious differences in my skin yet, I do find that they really help soften my skin. I can't wait to see any physical differences these serums will make to my skin.

They also included the Fresh sugar lip treatment in the shade 'Coral'. This is a brand that I have never heard of before, but I am glad this product is in the box as I love anything that will help me care properly for my lips, as I often get very dry and chapped lips. However, I don't often use tinted lip treatments, and this shade probably isn't the best for me to wear on an everyday basis as, even though the name suggests differently, it is quite a bright-ish red shade. However, I will try and get use out of this product one day.

In the box there is also a Lord & Berry lipstick crayon 20100 in the shade 'Diva'. I have tried just one thing by Lord & Berry before (the mini strobing pencil) and I loved it so I am excited to try this product out. It is the perfect shade for autumn and winter as well, it is the perfect dark plum shade. It applies really well, it is so smooth and creamy and doesn't leave patches or dry your lips. The colour is perfectly pigmented too, and I really can't wait to wear this product all the time through the winter months.

Finally, the most exciting item in the box for me has to be the Korres Sunflower and Evening Primrose eyeshadow in the shade 'Bronze Brown'. I have tried plenty of Korres' skincare products before but I never even realised that they had their own makeup. The shade 'Bronze Brown' is perfect for me, as I love brown neutral shades and this is just that, with a little bit of added shimmer to it. This eyeshadow is very creamy, easy to blend and very pigmented. I am very happy with this product and can see myself using it quite a bit.

So, even though this is not my favourite Look Incredible box (again!), I am reasonably pleased with this box. It is losing its value each month, but I am sure they will pick it up again soon. And even then, we're still getting more in the box than what we've actually paid for and that's all I expect. I am still happy that we get full sized items and they're always items I will use, so I will continue still with this box.

I'll be back on Saturday with another post for you all.

10 Things I Want To Do This Christmas

Hello you beauties!

With winter basically here (although the winter solstice isn't until the 21st December), I thought it'd only be right to decide on my plans for the winter months, especially the build up to Christmas.

1. Build a snowman
I have built a snowman before (one towering over me at 6 foot tall!) but over the past couple of years, Nottingham really has been lacking snow. I would love to be able to build a snowman again this year and act like a little kid for just half an hour.

2. Bake mince pies
Winter is my favourite time of the year for baking, as everything can be so festive if you want it to be. While a lot of people hate them, mince pies are one of my favourite Christmassy foods, and they taste even better if they're homemade.

3. Bake Christmas cookies/cupcakes
This links back with my previous one. I love baking, and so I would love to bake something festive to share with friends and family.

4. Make homemade hot chocolate
Hot chocolate is literally the only hot drink I like, and with the weather cooling down dramatically, I have been drinking more and more of it. I have always wanted to make my own hot chocolate, and so I will try and do that this winter.

5. Watch loads of Christmas films
There are so many out there, that it's almost impossible to watch every Christmas film over the whole of winter. I'm going to try and watch as many as I can though, as these are the things that make me feel the most festive.

6. Go sledging
We've never really had enough snow in the easily accessed areas for me in Nottingham for me to go sledging before, but it's something that I've always wanted to do. So this winter I am hoping it snows enough for me to finally be able to do this classic winter activity.

7. Go to a Christmas market
There's nothing better than basically being surrounded by Christmas. Nottingham always has its own 'Christmas market' during November and December so I will probably have a look round there whilst I am Christmas shopping, but this winter I would also love to go to a Christmas market in Germany - I heard they're great.

8. Go to a Christmas lights switch on
I love Christmas lights in city/town centres, but unfortunately I don't really get to go anymore as they're usually on on Saturday nights and I usually work Saturday nights. But this year I am hoping to go to at least 1 Christmas lights switch on (and hope that they don't set off too many fireworks).

9. Decorate for Christmas
This is something that will never change. I ALWAYS have to decorate for Christmas. It's not Christmas if you're not basically drowning in decorations all the time.

10. Spend more time with my family
This is probably the most important thing I want to do this winter. Between blogging, college and work, I hardly see my family anymore. So I am going to take advantage of this festive period to spend some quality time with my parents, dog and brother.

I would love it if you would share your amazing plans/wishes for winter with me.

I'll be back on Wednesday with another post for you all.

MUA Blushers Review

Hello you beauties!

MUA is a brand that I have only just started using, and is slowly becoming one of the best but also one of the most affordable brands in existence. They're are some of their products which are hit and miss but overall I am IN LOVE with their blushers.

These are the rectangular blushers that I am talking about, and there are 6 shades altogether. Personally I choose to split them into two categories; The pinks and the nudes.

Let's talk about the pinks.

First there is the shade 'Marshmallow' which is a very bright, almost neon, pink. I was a bit unsure about this one at first, as the shade is very intense and I was worried that it would look stupid on me. But, if used sparingly, it creates a very lovely, girly look and is great for nights out.

Another pink is 'Bubblegum', which I find to be a very peachy pink and I loved using this during the summer for those very fresh, girly looks. Even though amazingly pigmented, I also found that the colour on my cheek was very subtle with this shade in particular, which makes it perfect for that everyday look.

The final pink-ish shade is 'Candyfloss', which is a more muted mauve-y pink toned shade, and while it's not my favourite of the MUA blushers, it is the shade that fits perfectly with almost any look!

Now onto the nudes.

The shade 'Lolly' is the first MUA blush that I ever bought, and I personally would class this as being a peachy nude with a hint of glitter in it. I find that it is perfect for basically any look you want to create, and is definitely perfect for the summer and spring months.

'Bon Bon' is, what I would describe as being, a pinky nude and is a great blusher to pair with those nude lips. It is also not too bright so doesn't look stupid, and is great for creating that natural look.

'Cupcake' is probably my favourite MUA blusher of all time, and I would class this as being the ultimate nude. There's no glitter- its a very matte blusher which I think is perfect for creating the 'Au Natural' look. I would personally say this is the much cheaper dupe for the BareMinerals Ready Blush in the shade 'The Whisper'.

Four things I love about these blushers:

  • They're only £1 each!
  • They are amazing quality and last ages
  • They're extremely pigmented - not having to apply loads of layers for colour to show
  • There's no fall out and are all very easy to blend
And what do I dislike about these blushers? Basically nothing! They're honestly worth the money and I would definitely repurchase these and choose them above high end brand blushers. Go out and buy yourself some today!

I'll be back on Saturday with another post for you all.

Look Fantastic Beauty Box Review November 2016

Hello you beauties!

This month's theme for the Look Fantastic beauty box is '#LFSparkle', which is getting me so excited for Christmas already. And this box is by far the most amazing one I have received from them since I first started off with my subscription.

Price of box is £11.25 per month (if 12 month subscription). No fee for P&P
There are 8 products in this month's box
The brands included in this box are: Look Fantastic, Sebastian Professional, L'Oreal, Monu, Bloom and Blossom, and Model Co

As per usual, we got an issue of the Elle magazine, which I think is a great addition to the box.

The first item I pulled out of this month's box is Look Fantastic nail file, complete with silver glitter. This isn't actually listed in their magazine and unable to find it on their website, but I am happy with this product as I have been meaning to buy a new nail file for a while - now I finally have one!

The next item was one I was very excited to see. It is the Look Good Feel Better Angled Blending Brush. I love getting new makeup brushes, especially eyeshadow brushes, and this brush feels like amazing quality so I can't wait to try it out!

Next I saw the Sebastian Professional Volupt Spray. This promises to give more volume to your hair which I really hope it does - I could do with as much volume as I can get. However, although it says it isn't greasy, I am worried about it being a gel as I have never had much luck when it comes to gels. I suppose I should just give it a try and hope that it is worth it.

Then I saw the L'Oreal Mythic Oil, which was the item they revealed to us before the box was released. I have never really tried any of the hair products from L'Oreal before so I am excited to try this out, but with it being an oil I am hoping that it won't make my hair greasy.

They also included a sample of the Monu Recovery Balm, which is supposed to 'recover' tired and stressed skin. My skin hasn't been at its best recently, especially with the cold weather doing its worst to it, so I am happy to have this in the box and I really do hope it works to help my skin.

We also received a small bottle of the Bloom and Blossom Revitalising Leg and Foot Spray. We've received plenty of products from this brand before and I have always been impressed so I hope that I manage to find this product good quality and useful too.

The final item in the box is probably my most favourite item in the whole box, It is a Model Co Blush in the shade 'Peach Bellini'! As the same suggests, it is a peachy toned blush, and I always love wearing blush of this shade. I have never used anything from this brand before but I've heard great things about the brand. Just from one swatch of this product I can tell it is amazing quality so far and I am excited to start using it more and more.

So overall I am very, very impressed with this box, and although the previous boxes haven't been very exciting for me, this box has helped me to show that it is still worth paying £11.25 per month. I am looking forward to next month's box - no doubt it will be Christmas themed!

I'll be back on Wednesday with another post for you all.

My Bucket List

Hello you beauties!

Even though I am still only young (19), I feel like I have not accomplished much in my life yet. So I'm writing a bucket list for myself and I thought I would share it with you all. I may even update it as I complete each thing.

1. Carve a Pumpkin
2. Ride a Motorcycle
3. Get a Tattoo
4. Travel the world
5. Move to Brighton
6. Go to University
7. Write and publish a book
8. Get married
9. Have children
10. Become a healthy weight
11. Learn to speak French fluently
12. Ride a horse
13. Learn to ski/snowboard
14. Have my own clothing line
15. Own my own house

It's not a massive list. But I am sure I will add more to it in the future. I'd love it if you shared your bucket lists with me, even if it is only a short fraction of it.

I will be back on Wednesday with another post for you all!

How To Stay Organised

Hello you beauties!

A non beauty post for you all today. Instead, I'm talking about something that I hope you will all find useful.

Everyone needs to stay organised, whether that be for school/college/university, for work or just for general, everyday life. But how are you supposed to do that, when you've got such a busy life? Hopefully, my new few tips will help you with that

1. Get a diary/calendar
While this may sound stupid, old fashioned, etc, it really is an easy start to becoming organised. Write EVERYTHING down. Every plan you have, no matter how miniscule. It helps give you a better view of what your day will look like, and will help make sure you don't plan too much for one day.

2. Prioritise
For this, I feel like using school/college/university as an example. Let's say you have multiple essays you need to write. Some seem more appealing than others, because the topic interests you more. You feel like you want to write these first, and put off the boring ones for a while, but the dull ones are due in first. No matter what, remember to prioritise. Do them in order of the due date. Otherwise, you'll find you're getting too stressed out, having to rush the essays you didn't think you'd be that confident on.

3. Write a 'To-Do' list
This links well with my previous point. The easiest way to prioritise is to write yourself a 'To-Do' list. Put them in order of how quickly they need doing. Cross them off once you've done, that way you know all that's left to do. It's very much like a shopping list. And I think you can even get specific notebooks that are specifically designed to look like 'To-Do' lists.

4. Realise it is okay to say 'No'
Do your friends want to go out but you have a long list of things to do? Are you thinking about leaving your work for the next day because your friends are begging for you to go out, but you know you will struggle to catch up with your work if you do so? Then say no. The earlier you get the work done, the more likely you will be able to go out at a later date with nothing to worry about.

5. Have a place for everything
There is nothing more pleasant than having a well organised room. As I spend most of my time in my bedroom, it is crucial for me to have everything well organised. Things in alphabetical or chronological order, things with their own set place. It makes everything a lot easier when you have to look for something. But make sure to put it back as soon as you've finished using it!

6. Remember that you control your life
Do what you want to do, when you want to do it. You're living your life for yourself, not to impress other people. So do the things you enjoy, in your own way.

I hope this post has been useful for you all.

I'll be back on Saturday with another post for you all!

Monthly Favourites October 2016

Hello you beauties!

I hope October has been an amazing month for you all.

Christmas is approaching quickly, and the weather is now reasonably cooler than it was just a couple of months ago. It's the best time of the year, and is there really any better way to start a new month than with a Monthly Favourites post!? Definitely not.

1. Laura Geller
This is a brand that I have never really tried before, but over the past couple of months is something that I have been introduced too. And they're products that I have been loving a lot this month. Her products are such good quality - the lipsticks especially are amazingly pigmented - and I will definitely buy her products more in the future.

2. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
I think it has been a while since I mentioned a concealer in a Favourites post. But while I haven't been wearing as much makeup this month, I have still had a few blemishes that I have wanted to cover up this past month. And I love this concealer. It is cheap, easy to use and doesn't crease either. I use this on its own and I am often let very impressed with how good it leaves my skin looking.

3. Yankee Candles
Again, they're making a reappearance to the Monthly Favourites lists! I am a fan of candles in general, all year round, but Yankee Candles are by far my favourites - they just have a massive range of scents that are stronger than most. I love this time of the year for Yankee Candles too, as they always bring out their Christmas candles at this time. I went a little crazy and bought quite a few the other day, but at least I'm nicely stocked up before the festive period truly begins!

4. Hot Chocolate
With the rain beating down and the dark, cold nights coming earlier than ever, it is not only necessary to keep yourself warm whilst outside, but whilst you're inside too. I'm not a massive fan of most hot drinks. I do like coffee, but if I'm completely honest I'd choose a Frappuccino over a hot coffee anyday. So I opt for hot chocolate. Of course, everyone must love hot chocolate! Add marshmallows for the occasional treat and hot chocolates will make anyone wish it was winter everyday.

5. YouTube
Everyone needs that one night a week where they do absolutely nothing, have some time for themselves. But what are you supposed to do on those nights? I always opt for watching YouTube videos. Sometimes I choose to watch videos by Zoe Sugg, or Sophie Louise or Sophdoesnails (and I do watch the SacconeJoly vlogs every night), but there are often times I switch to watching some of LifeSimmer's Sims 3 videos. Always a great night.

6. The Sims 3
As well as watching Sims 3 videos, I have been loving playing on The Sims 3 a lot this past month. It is an easy way to keep yourself occupied for hours on end as well as having a lot of fun at the same time. I still love watching LifeSimmer's videos too, and watching her videos has shown me there is even more to do on the game than what I already knew was possible, and so it has made my gameplay even more fun. I do love the Sims 4 too (and I am really excited about the release of the new expansion pack tomorrow) but in terms of current content, The Sims 3 will always be my number 1 choice.

So those were the things I have been loving this past month. While there has not been a lot of beauty stuff on the post today, I hope that you still enjoyed this post.

I will be back tomorrow with another post for you all.
