GeekGear World of Wizardry Box Review February 2017

Hello you beauties!

Can you believe that it's almost the end of February already! I'm counting down the days now until summer (I'm getting really fed up with college now) - just less than 4 months until college is over! So today's post is the last post of the month and I'm really excited to get started with it! So here is this month's GeekGear World of Wizardry subscription box review!

As per usual, the first item I pulled out of this month's box is the t-shirt - something that we get in every month's box. The t-shirt in this box is one of the cutest ones we have ever received. It is called the 'Beautiful Beasts' t-shirt as it really is a t-shirt with beautiful animals on it. It is really simple and so really easy to wear so I can see myself wearing it a lot.

Let's talk about the print in this month's box. It is amazing, called a movie print. It features Daniel Radcliffe posing as Harry Potter and Eddie Redmayne posing as Newt Scamander (obviously this is to celebrate the release of Fantastic Beasts a couple of months ago). This print is the perfect addition to my print collection.

I was extremely excited to pull out the Wizarding World colouring book from this month's box. Some of you may know that I once used to sit and colour literally every night and I still sometimes do as it is a great activity to help de-stress. I also became obsessed with collecting Harry Potter colouring books so I am glad to add this one to my collection. The pictures in it are lovely too.

In this box we also received a Daily Prophet Reporter Journal notebook which I am happy to now own. As a writer (and also a future Creative Writing student), I am always in need of new notebooks and the detailing on the pages is beautiful. I can't wait to use this more.

Before we move onto the house themed products in this month's box, I have one final item to mention to you all. It is the Gryffindor Sword letter opener which is honestly one of the most adorable things I have ever seen. I probably won't use this (mainly because I don't receive many letters) but I definitely will have it on display all the time - the detailing on it is just beautiful!

Now we can move onto the house themed products, which surprisingly there were more than usual (usually we only get 1 or 2). For those of you who don't know, my house is Slytherin, so I was excited to see the green and silver Slytherin tie in this month's box! I have been desperate to own one of these for so long, and I even saw some when I was at the Harry Potter studio tour in London last year but I couldn't justify paying almost £23 for one! And I'm glad I didn't because now I own one and I didn't even pay that much for the whole box! I think we all know now what I am dressing up as for Halloween this year...!

The second house item in his month's box is a Slytherin (or whatever your chosen house is) scarf! I am so so happy to own this, and I know it's going to be perfect paired with the gloves and hat that we received in previous boxes. It's also perfect for the chilly, windy weather we have been experiencing recently (goodbye Storm Doris!).

The final house item and the final item in the whole box is a lovely little Hogwarts bookmark, that has a strip of colour on it to represent your house - so naturally mine has a strip of green on it. I love these metal bookmarks as I do already own a Slytherin one that I bought at the Harry Potter Studio Tour last year and I find that they hold very well in your book and looks very very pretty too.

I was really impressed with this month's box and I am still happy to pay each month for this subscription box as it is definitely worth the money. Every item in this month's box is definitely something that I will use. Definitely think about subscribing to this box if you can afford it!

I'll be back on Wednesday with my monthly favourites post for you all!

I hope you all liked this post. If you did, be sure to subscribe/follow, comment and share with friends.

What's In My Travel Makeup Bag

Hello you beauties!

When you read this blog post I will actually be in Brighton! I am so excited as I've always wanted to go and now I finally get to. So I thought it was only right to tell you what makeup items I will be taking in my travel bag to Brighton with me.

1. My Illamasqua primer
This is the best face primer I have ever used and is the perfect travel size so can easily fit in my bag.

2. Garnier BB cream
While I still want a nice base for my makeup, I am only in Brighton for a couple of days so do not want to worry about using a heavy foundation. So I've decided to bring this BB cream with me as it offers great coverage.

3. Collection Lasting Perfection concealer
I think this is a staple product in most people's makeup collections! It offers amazing coverage and blends really well and is especially great paired with a BB cream.

4. Rimmel Stay Matte powder
I have always loved this powder and because it is compact rather than lose it means it is perfect to use while travelling and doesn't (hopefully!) make a mess.

5. Seventeen Define and Conquer contour kit
While away, I only want my contour to be very subtle, which is not really what I get with my beloved Benefit Hoola bronzer. So I chose to take this little contour kit with me as it really does contour your face well without being over the top.

6. MUA blush in 'Cupcake'
I love nude blushers and this is such a small, compact blush and so fits perfectly into any look and my makeup bag!

7. Makeup Revolution Baked Highlighter
This is the one I got from their advent calendar and I have honestly fallen in love with this highlighter so much over the past month or so! Plus it's quite small so easy to fit in my makeup bag.

8. GOSH eye primer
I always use this primer and have done for a very long time. It's really nice and moisturising and really makes your eyeshadow pop!

9. NYX nude quad
This is one of those that you can make yourself and I have some really nice nude shades in this palette as who doesn't love nude shades!? I want to keep my eye look as simple and easy as possible while away so this palette is perfect.

10. Soap and Glory Lid Stuff palette
Of course I'll take some shimmer shades too! I love shimmer eyeshadows as you all will know by now. And this palette has some of the most gorgeous nude shimmer shades I have ever used in my life, and is the perfect size (it is very small with only 6 shades) to slot into my makeup bag.

11. No7 Intense Volume mascara
This is my go-to everyday mascara at the moment. It's not the best for volume (despite the name) but it is perfect for that simple natural look I am intending to do many times over my trip.

12. Freedom brow pomade in 'Blonde'
This is honestly one of the best eyebrow products I have ever used. I can't go anywhere without filling in my eyebrows, and because this product is the perfect colour for me and so easy to use, it was obvious that I would be taking it on my trip with me!

13. Seventeen clear definition mascara in 'Clear'
Of course I can't forget to set my brows once I filled them in and this clear mascara is the best product I have found for this.

14. NYX butter gloss in the shade 'Madeleine'
I don't want my lips to be too bold or a difficult colour to use while I'm away so a lipgloss is the perfect product to take with me. This nude lipgloss from NYX is honestly one of the best lipglosses I have ever used as it has an amazing colour pay off for a lipgloss but also is not too sticky,

So those are the very limited amount of makeup items I have taken on my trip with me but as you can see I chose them specifically so that I could create a lovely nude 'no makeup' makeup look. What makeup do you usually take on a trip with you?

I'll be bringing you another post on Saturday (I'll be back from Brighton by then)!

I hope you all liked this post. If you did, be sure to subscribe/follow, comment and share with friends.

Look Incredible Beauty Box Review February 2017

Hello you beauties!

You all know by now that my favourite part of the month is getting my Look Incredible box as they give us such amazing products each month for such a low price! And this month's box really knew how to impress me. So let's get onto the review.

First there is the Fresh Face Essence with Green Coffee which, when I first saw it, looks very similar to the BareMinerals skin product that we received in last month's box. I have never heard of this brand before so I don't actually know if their products are any good or not but it is for my skin so as you know I'll always be looking forward to trying it out.

Next is a Nails Inc NailKale nail polish in the shade Westbourne Park Road. The colour is lovely, a very nice nude-y pink and I would use it a lot as it is the perfect natural shade. However, I have tried a polish from this brand before and was quite disappointed with it as it chipped within the first few hours. It would peel off quite easily too. I WILL give this one a chance though - this one would be a different formula and so may be better than the other one I own (it might have just been a dodgy pot that I had) so I am looking forward to trying this out.

In this box we also got a Studio 10 Brow Lift Perfecting Liner and while I have never used anything from this brand before, I have heard great things about them and I am also loving new brow products. The idea of this brow product is really great too, as it says that it can adapt to different hair colours depending on how hard you press down. So I'll be using a really light hand! It seems like a really great colour for my eyebrows which is a problem I usually find as blonde products are too light for my brows but brown products are often too dark.

The penultimate item in this month's box is a Korres Mango Butter lipstick, which sounds amazing, especially as I love everything mango related. I got the shade 'Natural Rose' which is how it sounds, a lovely natural colour. A natural brown-red colour. I have a nice growing collection of Korres makeup now and have not yet had any problems with it yet so I feel like this is going to be a really great lipstick.

The final item in this month's box is definitely not one that I was expecting. It is the Revealed Smoky 20 shade eyeshadow palette from a brand called Coastal Scents. Again I have never heard of this brand before but that doesn't always have to be a bad thing! I don't usually go for a smoky eye but I can see myself using so many of these shades on just a normal day. And once I swatched these eyeshadows and used them I automatically fell in love with the palette. They're so incredibly pigmented and blend out really well so it'd be a perfect palette for everyone.

This box this month is honestly just so amazing! I am still shocked. This actually makes me slightly upset to think that I will be cancelling my subscription with them soon. So I know most of the brands in this box are ones I have never heard of before but like I said earlier, it can be a good thing. Even though I want to have brands included that I have heard of but are that bit more expensive that I probably wouldn't want to go out and buy it all myself, it's great having those brands you haven't heard of before as it introduces you to something new and honestly, a lot of my favourite makeup is from brands I had never heard of before I received the product in a beauty box. Is that the same for some of you?

I'll be back on Wednesday with another post for you all.

I hope you all liked this post. If you did, be sure to subscribe/follow, comment and share with friends.

My Favourite Nude Lipsticks

Hello you beauties!

I've written posts about my makeup collection before and have even done a post about my favourite winter lipsticks. Despite how cold it still is, I really do not feel like it is winter anymore as everyone seems to be getting so prematurely excited for Spring. I've started wearing nude lip colours a lot more recently so I thought today that I'd share just a few of my favourites with you.

Probably my most favourite nude lipstick is the Collection Lip Butter in the shade 'Cappuccino'. I've posted about this lipstick A LOT in the past and will continue to do so as it is amazing. It's not the most pigmented lipstick ever but for just £2.99 it is amazing for that everyday look.

I have been obsessing over the Sleek Matte Me liquid lipstick in the shade 'Birthday Suit' for so long now and I finally bought it a couple of months ago. It is the perfect pink nude and dries to a matte very easily without drying your lips out too much.

Recently I have also been loving the Bourjois Rouge Edition lipstick in the shade 'Rose Tweed' which is actually a very similar colour to the Sleek lipstick but this Bourjois lipstick is a lot more moisturising and the colour pay off is amazing.

I now own 2 of the No7 moisture drench lipsticks and I love the shade 'Caramel Silk' as it is basically what you would call your lips but better. It's a great lipstick for that 'no make up' make up look and doesn't feel too heavy on your lips either.

A few months ago I bought my first ever NYX soft matte lip cream and I own the shade 'Abu Dhabi' which is one of the best nude shades I have ever used. It really is soft, easy to apply and dries perfectly. I find myself using this product a lot.

Surprisingly another nude lip colour I have been loving recently is a Primark lip crayon. It is their PS... velvet matte lip crayon in the shade 'Ballerina' and considering that it only cost me £2 I am really really impressed with this product. It applies perfectly, very creamy and the colour is brilliant. It doesn't dry too much either.

Please feel free to share your favourite nude lip products with me, as I'm always looking for new ones to try out.

I'll be back on Saturday with another post for you all.

I hope you liked this post. If you did, be sure to subscribe/follow, comment and share with friends.

Look Fantastic Beauty Box Review February 2017

Hello you beauties!

It's time again for a beauty box review. Before we start talking about the contents of this month's box, I just wanted to talk to you about the future of this blog. It's honestly nothing majorly serious, so don't worry about it.

Since the beginning of this blog, I have always included subscription box reviews, and these have swapped and changed a little bit during the past 10 months, and I am sorry to tell you all that, within the next few months, my subscription box reviews will seize completely. As some of you may know, I am going to university in September and so I am not planning on continuing getting these boxes when I do move away.

So my Look Fantastic subscription finishes next month (meaning there will only ever be one more Look Fantastic review on this blog) and I plan to cancel my other two boxes during the summer months. I'm sorry if you really like reading my box reviews but I simply can't afford to keep them going.

Anyway... let's get onto the review!

First is the Borghese Fango Mud Mask. I am really looking forward to trying out this product as my favourite mascara is from this brand and I am very impressed with this brand as a whole. I'm always in need of new face masks too and I have never tried out mud masks before so I am excited to try this out.

Next is The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factor which I am pretty sure is a moisturiser. I am always in need of new moisturisers and this actually seems to be pretty good. It's really quite affordable too so if I use it more and like it then I will probably repurchase it. It's supposed to be non-sticky too which I am excited about.

Then we got a Model Co Eye Lites Metallic shadow which I was so excited to see in this month's box. You should all know by now that I love a shimmery look on my eyes so a metallic eyeshadow colour is my idea of heaven. It is a beautiful gold colour too which is what I usually choose when buying shimmery shades (I have a lovely L'oreal one that I use all the time). So I can't wait to try this one out.

Surprisingly we got the MyVitamins Catwalk Queen vitamins and even though we've got vitamins in this box before, they're not always something that I want in a beauty box. They're supposed to help a look with your hair, skin and nails but the actually tablets are huge so I am kind of put off of taking them. They're a great addition to the box though if you love vitamins though.

Then there is the Polaar Icy Magic Roll On eye cream. I love eye creams and I personally love this brand too, as we got a lip balm from this brand a couple of months ago in this box which has now become one of my favourite lip balms. I really do hope this eye cream is magical for my eyes.

The final product in this box is the This Works Deep Sleep Stress Less roll on which I think will be perfect for me if it actually works! I get very stressed out very easily and have had to do all sorts just to try and calm myself down a bit. I use the sprays to help me sleep at night, I take Kalms tablets now when I feel the need for them and now I have something that will fit perfectly in my handbag for when I'm on my travels!

So I do like this box overall, except for the vitamins, and I'm sure I'll end up using everything in this box like I usually do.

I'll be back on Wednesday with another post for you all.

I hope you all liked this post. If you did, be sure to subscribe/follow, comment and share with friends.

Primark Ultimate Face Sculpting Palette Review

Hello you beauties!

I don't usually post many product reviews on this blog and I honestly feel like I should start doing that more this year. So today I have decided to bring one to you, as I have started to explore different brands now. So today I will be reviewing the Primark PS... sculpting palette.

There are 3 different sections to this palette - one section for brows, one section for the face and one section for the eyes. I'll talk through each one separately.

The eyebrow shades in this palette are actually surprisingly good, which is not what I was expecting. I will admit that I have only used one shade for my eyebrows - the lightest one. I wouldn't want to use any of the darker shades as they'd be way too dark for me (there are 3 shades altogether). I love the pigmentation of these brow powders and they're really easy to use and there's no fall out either. You can easily control these powders to where you want them to go and you can build up the colour as much as you want.

The next section of this palette is for the face - to contour and highlight. I must admit this is probably the part of the palette that I like the least. There are four powders in this section; one to sculpt, one to bronze, one to highlight and one to illuminate. I don't really like the sculpt powder. I feel like it'd be a great colour for me if it was actually pigmented, but it isn't really. If you do manage to get any powder to show up then it's really hard to blend too. So I wouldn't recommend the sculpt powder.

The bronze powder is slightly more pigmented and I probably would prefer to use this as a contour shade compared to the sculpt powder but it is slightly orange so I wouldn't go over the top with this one personally.

I honestly didn't really like the highlight shade in this palette because it was very, very orange and looked quite cakey. You could definitely see it on your skin no matter how much you tried to blend it out.

My favourite part of this section of the palette has to be the illuminate powder. It's not the best one that I've ever used before (nothing beats my Sleek solstice palette) but it is a lot better than I thought it would be. It's not the most pigmented powder I have ever used but I'm pretty impressed with it considering it is a Primark product. As it is not so pigmented, it really is perfect for that subtle highlight.

The final section of this palette is the eyeshadows. There are 6 different shades of a range of colours (pinks, purples and browns) which is a range of matte and shimmer too. I was pleasantly surprised with these eyeshadows. They're extremely pigmented and really really creamy (I just love swatching them because of this!). They're also really quite easy to blend too because they're so creamy. The only problem I have with these eyeshadows is the fact that there is some fall out to them which is quite annoying sometimes.

I really would recommend this palette if you just wanted something cheap - as it was only £6! They're not the best powders I have ever used but it is definitely worth the money. I find myself reaching for it quite a bit when I'm just going for a simple look too.

I'll be back on Saturday with another post for you all.

I hope you liked this post. If you did, be sure to subscribe/follow, comment and share with friends.

My Healthy Eating and Fitness Tips

Hello you beauties!

Yes, you have read the title of this post correctly! Today I will be bringing you all a health post, which is not something I have included in this blog before but I intend on including it even more in the future. I have never really considered myself a massively healthy or fit person but I have been motivated this year to look after myself a little bit more. And I can already tell the difference, as I am feeling great already and we're just over a month into the year. So I thought I would share my tips and tricks with you in case you wanted to find different ways to be a healthy person.

1. Diets never work
I am sure people hear this all the time but there are still some people who swear by 'diets' which is a really really bad idea. Yes, they seem to work at the time but once a diet is over (as most only last few a few weeks or months) and then a lot of people go back to eating exactly how they did before, which packs the weight on again. If you just eat healthily (but you can treat yourself to some junk food every now and then), then you don't need to worry about diets and can still be a healthy and fit person.

2. Aim to lose a couple of pounds a month
I know some people who obsess over losing weight and, if I'm honest, I sometimes get a little bit disappointed if a couple of weeks pass and I have only lost a pound or two. But losing too much weight in such little time is not healthy and so only losing a couple of pounds a week or fortnight is actually reasonably healthy for you.

3. You don't have to go to the gym
Everyone seems to think that to be healthy and fit, you have to go to the gym multiple times a week but I can tell you that it's not required. Yes, you need exercise and sometimes going to the gym is great, especially if you enjoy it, but there are also so many other ways to get exercise into your every day routine. I, for example, choose to cycle a lot. In fact, sometimes I cycle twice a day, every day of the week. And I love it. It's not too much at one go, but I'm still managing to find time to exercise I really am healthier now because of it.

4. You don't need to cut out all bad food
I think it's rare to find someone who would admit that they'd be able to live without fatty and sugary foods and a lot of people are often happy to know that they don't have to live without these foods. Yes, they're really not healthy at all but the only time they become really bad for you is if you're eating them a lot. I work in a fast food restaurant and used to each the food there sometimes 3 or 4 times a week and I quickly piled on the weight. Now I have cut it down to 1 meal from there a week and I have found myself to be a lot healthier. I have cut down on how many fizzy drinks I consume too. And I really do feel a lot better and healthier, even though these fatty foods are still significantly in my diet. Limit rather than cut out completely.

5. Don't snack when bored
I used to do this all the time. It's just like your body automatically thinks that you're hungry as soon as you start to feel bored. And I always used to reach for sugary and salty snacks just to give myself something to do. That's really not a good thing to do, so now what I do is just drink water as soon as I feel like I'm bored, or eat a piece of fruit (secret: fruit seems to fill you up quicker) and I have become healthier because of that.

6. Don't weigh yourself everyday
When people are trying to lose weight (and I will admit, I've been guilty of this in the past), they seem to weigh themselves every single day and get disappointed if it takes a while to see a difference. That's because you're not going to be losing weight everyday. Weigh yourself just once a week at the most and you'll soon see the difference.

I know some people might not take me seriously as I am not a massively healthy person but these are some tips that I always swear by so I hope they gave you some help too.

I'll be back on Wednesday with another post for you all.

I hope you liked this post. If you did, be sure to subscribe/follow, comment and share with friends.

Monthly Favourites January 2017

Hello you beauties!

Is it really the second month of the year already!? Wow! I am really excited for this month. I honestly feel like it's going to be great. But for now, let's see what beauty and non-beauty things I was loving last month.

I really did love the NYX Finishing Powder all throughout January. I usually swear by my Rimmel Stay Matte powder but I wanted to try new powders out, especially a loose powder. So I tried this one and even though it is twice the price of the Rimmel one, it really is worth every penny. It is easy to use/control, doesn't go patchy and keeps you from going oily all day.

I have also loved the Soap and Glory Archery brow pencil and tint this month, which I'm sure I have mentioned in a favourites post before. It is just so quick and easy to use and is always the perfect shade for me. I especially love using it on those mornings where I have very little time to do anything, as it really is not hard to use this product and makes your brows look great.

Throughout the past month I have been using the No7 day and night serums a lot as I have been struggling with dry skin a lot more in the past few colder months. And they really work wonders. A little goes a long way and is not time consuming to apply. It leaves your skin really great and refreshed too!

The last beauty item I have been loving this month is one that will surprise you all. It is matte liquid lipsticks. Yes, you did hear me right! Everyone knows I am usually not a fan of matte lipsticks OR liquid lipsticks, never mind both combined. But I have been finding them a lot easier to use recently, and my favourite one is the Sleek one in the shade 'Birthday Suit'. I'm sure I'll be wearing it a lot more in future months.

Now onto the non-beauty things.

I finally finished watching every current episode of 'Once Upon A Time' and I know I've been loving this show for ages but I thought it deserved a special mention again. This is honestly one of the best TV shows I have ever watched and naturally you'd think that it's slightly childish because it focuses on fairytales but honestly the story lines are amazing and the characters are just perfect.

My next favourite of January is yet another TV show. It's Catfish, which I'm sure you've all heard of. I just find it really entertaining but also quite emotional sometimes. It's just shocking to see how dangerous the internet can be because, even though it might seem harmless at first, catfishing someone can seriously effect their feelings and maybe have even more serious consequences. Stay safe friends!

The final thing I have loved this month is the Sims 4! I think I have mentioned the Sims in a favourites before but that's only because it is so important to me. It gives me chance to escape for a few hours and create some characters (which is what I am used to doing a lot as an English student). Sims is definitely the best simulation game I have ever found and I am starting to prefer the Sims 4 a lot more than Sims 3 now as the content is just so much better and often more realistic now.

So those were the things I have been loving this month. Feel free to share with me everything that you have been loving this month too.

I'll be back on Saturday with another post for you all.

I hope you liked this post. If you did, be sure to subscribe/follow, comment and share with friends.
