My Little Box Beauty Box Review April 2016

Hello you beauties!

Welcome back to my blog, and today I have another beauty box review for you all. This time it is the 'My Little Box' beauty box that I am reviewing. I was really excited when my first box arrived that I used everything straight away and wrote this post pretty much straight away.

Price of box is £11 per monthAnd £3.95 P&P
There are 5 products in this month's box
If all full-sized products, this box would be worth £57
The brands included in this box are: My Little Beauty, Nails Inc and L'Occitane

Pop-Up Garden (£7) (rating 4/5)
I love the fact that this beauty box is not just a beauty box, but a lifestyle box too. This is the first item I pulled out of the box. I thought it was really, really cute and I can’t wait to start using it. I’ve been a bit hopeless with plants in the past so I’m hoping that the pure cuteness of this product will convince me to take better care of plants now I’m older. Or maybe not, but we’re never going to know unless I try.

Travel Pouch for Lingerie (£13) (rating 3/5)
I am not sure what I will do with this pouch, as it is quite a bit smaller than I imagined it to be, and I also do not travel a lot. Because of the size, I do not know how they can justify charging £13 for this product - I would pay £5 maximum. I don’t really feel like I could give this as a gift (it might be a bit inappropriate) but I suppose I could find a use for it, even if I don’t use it for… *cough cough*... lingerie. I suppose the idea of this product is very sweet though, and I really love the design.

L'Occitane Cherry Blossom Bath & Shower Gel (given 75ml worth £5.75.. 250ml costs £15) (rating 4/5)
I love scented Bath & Shower Gels and I have heard this brand is amazing (although I have never used any of their products before) so I was extremely excited to see this in the box. I was really hoping to get the rose scented one, but received the cherry blossom one instead. I was hoping it wouldn’t smell too strongly of cherries, as I really hate them (except black cherries) but I was happy to find that it did smell rather flowery and perfume-y instead. It left my skin feeling very soft after use and the scent even lingered for a while afterwards.

Nails. Inc London Nail Varnish (10ml for £11) (rating 4.5/5)
I have heard many good things about this brand. I love nail varnishes, but usually only buy cheaper ones (like the Essence ones from Wilko’s for £1.60) but when I received this in the box, I was so excited. The colour is a deep plum shade, and if anyone knows me well then they know then they know that I love purple. Because this is a darker shade, I feel like it will be better for autumn and winter rather than spring or summer, so it might not be appropriate yet for a few months but I am still going to try this as soon as I possibly can.

Update: This is a good nail varnish but I don't see much difference from this to the Essence ones. I love the colour though. But I'll probably just stick with the Essence nail varnishes for a much lower price.
Update: This is actually rubbish. Whilst the colour is brilliant, I let this dry completely but it still chipped within half an hour of application. I will never buy this product again.

My Little Beauty Rosy Mornings Detoxifying Mask (50ml for £11) (rating 5/5)
This is from the company’s own beauty brand, and while I’ve always been excited about but slightly disappointed that I won’t be able to buy anything from this brand yet (as they don’t deliver to the UK). The bottle is smaller than I thought it would be, but I realised that when you’re putting it on, you hardly need to use any so this small bottle is going to last me for a while. At first this product is a white cream, but when rubbed into the skin it turns a corally colour. Both the bottle and the colour of the cream suggests that  it should smell like peaches but it smells kind of like chocolate orange (I am not complaining, I love the smell of chocolate orange). I love this product as it made my skin really smooth and I will probably buy this product again.

Update: This has to be the best face mask I have ever used. I have started to use this every other night though for a little 'me time' as I do not usually have a lot of time to use face masks. The skin on my face has never felt so smooth (despite the different face masks and moisturisers I have used in the best). This is a product I definitely recommend that you try.

I hope you enjoyed this review and I will be back tomorrow with my April Favourites!

Thank you!!

Items That I Couldn't Live Without

Hello you beauties!

I wanted to start this blog on a very positive note. So here I am with a blog post about the beauty items that I cannot live without.

I was talking about this post with my friend last week, and we seemed to have different opinions about what I could live without (she thinks I have such an obsession that I couldn’t live without every makeup item I use) but know differently.

  1. I absolutely love this product and is definitely something I would be using in the future. I find that it gives a great but light coverage, which is just what I want. Not only that, but I find that it moisturisers the skin too. It certainly leaves me with skin that doesn’t look lifeless, and this is why I cannot live without this product.

  2. I always find that my eyes look way too tired/with horrible dark circles under them and I always need a way to cover them up. I’ve always been fussy with concealer but I love this palette as I find I can blend the concealer really well. It covers my dark circles perfectly. This is why it is a product I cannot live without.

  3. I always hate my eyes when I’m not wearing mascara. Even though I have been told that I have naturally long eyelashes, I feel like mine are hardly visible without mascara and this makes my eyes look small and dull, so I rely on mascara to make my eyes look more… like eyes. This is why it is a product I cannot live without.

  4. It is no lie that I love lipsticks. I feel like it is the pop of colour that my face needs if I don’t wear eyeshadows. Also, if I can find the right one, I find them to be very moisturising, which is what I need for my lips are they dry out very easily. My favourite brand for lipsticks is No7. This is why it is a product I cannot live without.

  5. It is no secret that I am one of the palest people you will ever meet, and I often feel uncomfortable because of this. I used to use the Natural Collection bronzer, but found that it made no difference to my skin at all. Then I found this Makeup Revolution one, and it has made an amazing change. All I need is a light dusting for my skin to have an instant tanned glow to it. This is why it is a product I cannot live without.

I hope you all liked this post. If you have any requests for posts, then feel free to post them in a comment and I will try to do as many as possible.

The next couple of posts will be some monthly reviews (one beauty one, and one surprise one) so I hope you are all looking forward to those.

Thank you!!!

Look Fantastic Beauty Box Review April 2016

Hello you beauties!

I only heard of beauty boxes about a week ago when I saw the advert for Glossybox on TV. I was instantly hooked. I needed to know what they were. And, if possible, I had to buy one.

After reading the reviews for Glossybox, I decided not to buy it but continued to shop around. This is when I came across the Look Fantastic beauty boxes. At just £11.95 per month, these are affordable even for those 'strapped for cash', and they are definitely worth more than you pay for them.

I looked at other reviews for this box, such as ones by Jaina (http://whichbeautyboxuk.com/), and eventually decided to buy it. And I really am glad that I did.

Though disappointed that it was only skin and hair care available with this month's box and no make-up included, I was thoroughly pleased with the contents of this box.

Price of box is £11.25 per month (if 12 month subscription). No fee for P&P
There are 8 products in this month's box
If all full-sized products, this box would be worth c.£100
The brands included in this box are: Rituals, Bloom and Blossom, Balance Me, Briogeo, Elemis, Tanworx and My Vitamins

This is not usually something I would read, as I chose to read ‘Teen Vogue’ which is almost half the price of ‘Elle’ and covers the same content. However, the ‘Elle’ magazine is much thicker than most magazines I read, so I really believe it is worth the money. Also, Beyonce is on the cover of this issue, which is very promising, as she is a very inspirational woman to many. I am looking forward to sitting down with this magazine and reading it from cover to cover - and possibly buying more in the future.

My Vitamins Performance Effervescent Blackcurrant Flavour (x20 tablets)

These are absolutely brilliant. Dissolvable vitamins always give you a brilliant flavour to make a refreshing drink while looking after your inner beauty. I always love items that are there to make you healthier, as I am always looking to boost my immune system. I will definitely be looking to buy this again.

I was happy to see that we were given the full size of this product (75ml).If I’m honest, I had never heard of a hand scrub before I received this box. But boy oh boy was I excited to see it. I get naturally dry skin, especially on my hands, so I am always looking for new products to use. I loved the smell of this product and, although it was a little weird to use a scrub on my hands, this product is absolutely amazing! I used it in the morning and my hands stayed smooth for the whole of the day! This makes me really happy that they gave us the full size product as I am officially in love with it. I will definitely buy this product once this one runs out.
I would recommend this product for those people who get dry skin.

Bloom and Blossom Bath and Shower Gel (Given: 50ml Travel Size. Full size: 150ml. £11.50) (rating 3/5)

This was not my favourite product, but I’m not overall disappointed. It’s fragrance free, meaning its perfect for a wide range of people, but this also means I probably will not buy this product again, as I am a massive fan of scented shower gels. Also, this shower gel does no better than most other products, so I cannot see how they can justify charging £11.50 for a 50ml bottle. Your skin is smooth after use but no more than Treaclemoon showel gel, for example, where the product costs £2-£5 depending on the store and any offers. Overall, I do not think it is a complete waste, and appreciate receiving it in my box, but I probably would not buy this product after I use up the sample.
I would recommend this product for people with any type of skin.

Briogeo Don't Despair Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask (Given: 29ml. Full size: 236ml. £30) (rating 4/5)

I have never used a hair mask before, so was keen to try it when I saw it was included in this month’s beauty box. I was hoping it would be better than most conditioners I have used, as I often suffer from dry and damaged hair. You have to leave it in for longer than most (5-10) minutes before rinsing, which is hard to time sometimes and often boring, but you need to make sure it has time to work. I was amazed at how smooth my hair was after I had rinsed it out. However, if you have naturally frizzy hair, then I would recommend to style your hair properly after use and maybe use other products too as I found that this product made my hair frizzier than normal when I woke up the next morning. I am not sure if I would personally buy this product again (due to it being £25) but I will have to continue using the sample before I make up my mind.
I recommend this product for those people with any type of hair, but definitely recommend for those who are prone to getting dry and damaged hair.

This is a product that has me sitting on the fence. I had never heard of body polish before, and was surprised to learn it was somewhat similar to body scrub. I was excited to use it though, as I heard (from other reviews) that this product supposedly firmed your skin as well as cleansing and smoothing it. It did just that. After one application, I could already feel the added firmness in my skin. However, the smell of the product really put me off. It had a very strong medicine-like scent to it that made my eyes water, and the smell stuck for quite a while. It was so bad I had to use body butter afterwards (The Body Shop Virgin Mojito body butter) to cover up the smell and make it bearable. Therefore I probably will never buy this product again.
I recommend this product for people with any type of skin.

Tanworx Tan Maintainer by Monu Skincare (Given: 60ml Travel Size. Full Size: 120ml. £11.20)

I do not use fake tan - literally never have and never will - so I will not be using this product. It’s a shame, but I suppose there will sometimes be products that you will find no use for in these boxes.

Elemis British Botanical Hand & Nail Butter (Given: 20ml Sample Size. Full size: 100ml. £18) (rating  5/5)

I love any form of hand cream/butter so when I saw this in the box I was really excited. And I was not disappointed. Not only does it leave you with smooth skin throughout the day, it also smells great (although quite strong). I carry this with me wherever I go and I will definitely consider buying this product again.
I recommend this product for people who get dry skin.

Overall, I genuinely think this box is very good value for the money you pay for it. Whilst this box was mainly focused on skincare, I feel like this is a positive thing as we have to take more care about our skin as the weather begins to change as we have transitioned into a new season.

I seriously cannot wait for next month's box already.

39 of My Favourite Things

Hello you beauties!

I’m back with another post, yet it’s not about beauty or fashion. I apologise for that, but I thought the next few posts should just be focused on you all getting to know me before I pour my heart and soul into this blog.

So firstly, I am bringing you a post about my favourite things. So let’s get straight into it :)

13. What is my favourite thing to do when I’m bored?
